Certified Production Staff
Job Descriptions

Certified Production Staff are expected to be knowledgeable in their field of expertise, and to represent both the interests of the production company and the interests of the Opera House.  A certain level of maturity, good judgment and professionalism is required in these positions.

Stage Technician

Knowledgeable in the specification and usage of stage scenic and rigging equipment and materials.  Understands all relevant safety standards and good theatrical practices.  Knowledgeable in the facility-specific rules and guidelines of the Opera House.  Proactively ensures that all productions follow published guidelines, use safe practices, and do not damage the facility.  Supervises the activities of the Stage Carpenters, Stage Hands, and Special Effects Technicians.  Acts as a resource to the production staff.  Provides training as required.

Lighting Technician

Knowledgeable in the specification and usage of stage lighting equipment and materials.  Understands all relevant safety standards and good theatrical practices.  Skilled in lighting design, color selection, setting of levels and writing of cues.  Skilled in troubleshooting system and component problems.  Knowledgeable in the facility-specific rules and guidelines of the Opera House.  Proactively ensures that all productions follow published guidelines, use safe practices, and do not damage the facility.  Supervises the activities of the Stage Electricians, Follow Spot Operator and Light Board Operator.  Acts as a resource to the production staff.  Provides training as required.

Sound Technician

Knowledgeable in the specification and usage of professional sound equipment.  Understands all relevant safety standards and good theatrical practices. Skilled in sound system design, microphone selection and placement, setting of levels, equalization and delays, as well as feedback elimination.  Skilled in the writing of cues. Skilled in troubleshooting system and component problems.  Knowledgeable in the facility-specific rules and guidelines of the Opera House.  Proactively ensures that all productions follow published guidelines, use safe practices, and do not damage the facility.  Supervises the activities of the Sound Board Operator.  Acts as a resource to the production staff.  Provides training as required.

House Manager

Knowledgeable in the safe and effective management of the front-of-house and lobby areas.  Understands all relevant safety codes for Places of Assembly.  Knowledgeable in the facility-specific rules and guidelines of the Opera House.  Proactively ensures that all productions follow published guidelines, use safe practices, and do not damage the facility.  Supervises the activities of the Ushers, House Set-up Crew and Cleaning Crew.  Responsible for crowd management during any emergency situations, as required by the State of NH Fire Code.  Acts as a resource to the production staff.  Provides training as required.
