"Little Shop of Horrors" opened Off-Broadway in 1982, the
same year the MADCo was started. The musical by composer
Alan Menken and writer Howard Ashman (The Little Mermaid,
Beauty and the Beast) is about a nerdy florist shop worker
who raises a plant that feeds on human blood. The musical is
based on the low-budget 1960 film The Little Shop of
Horrors, directed by Roger Corman. Menken's musical score is
written in the style of 1960's rock and roll, doo-wop and
early Motown and includes several show-stopping numbers
including "Skid Row (Downtown)," "Somewhere That's Green,"
and "Suddenly Seymour," as well as the title song.

long standing grudge against the other and the relationship between
the two brings things to an explosive head, along with all the

make a small $25 annual tax deductible donation to the Greater Derry
Arts Council. Through your support we are able to maintain and
improve the performance spaces at the historic Adams Memorial Opera
House and keep our rents low and competitive for groups that produce
the shows and events at the Opera House. Your donations also help
